According to a Billboard interview with Pusha T, he’s been offered the position of President at G.O.O.D. Music. Which is awesome.
The biggest takeaways from the conversation? First of all, the possibility of another label compilation like the underrated Cruel Summer from 2012. Second, Pusha’s second solo album, King Push, will have some singles coming out before the end of the year. That’s a fantastic Christmas present.
Also, Push brings us a fantastic new piece of slang in “manicured.” Honestly, “curated” has been overused for a minute now, and it’s time to put it to rest. “Manicured” implies the same thing, but trades in the museum-quality intellectual affect for a much more luxe, high-life bit of pimpery in men’s nail care as metaphor. I like it.
Finally, it’s also fantastic to know that our man from Virginia Beach fucks with mood boards. I’ve resisted, but it’s a well known technique for creative types, and I’ll probably make one when I get back to the states next month. This OG co-sign puts it over the edge.
I hope King Push does well as President. I think he will. Honestly, can the man who made this do any wrong?
